Software, UI & Agentic Systems Engineer (m/w/d)

openmaind · Graz, Austria (hybrid) · Full-time

About us

We build an AI-powered, hardware-agnostic intelligence layer for AGV/AMR fleets — the fleet orchestrator. Three modules, one system: insight (seeing what's happening — movement, near-misses, blockages), planning (simulating layouts and material flows before they exist), and orchestration (coordinating manual and autonomous fleets in real time).

What you'll work on & what we actually care about

  • Judgment over syntax
  • We care far more about your ability to reason about a system, and to catch when an agent's — or a teammate's — output is wrong, fragile, or over-engineered, than about deep expertise in any one language
  • You'll be directing and reviewing coding agents as much as writing code yourself, and owning the quality of that output is part of the job
  • Ship real product features in Go and Python, React on the front end
  • Push our agentic capabilities forward with LangGraph — design, test, and harden multi-step agent workflows
  • Get your hands on LLM training and evaluation: fine-tuning, benchmarks, regression testing model behavior
  • Level up our SDLC — CI/CD, testing infra, release process, code quality
  • Go where the robots are — integrate and validate orchestration logic against real AGV/AMR hardware in the field

What you bring

  • Fluent German is a must-have; good English matters too
  • Strong architectural judgment
  • Comfort with Go, Python and React is a plus, not a gate — picking up whatever the problem needs matters more
  • Real hands-on experience building or running LLM-based agents (LangGraph or similar)
  • You know how to evaluate and test LLM output, not just prompt it
  • Curiosity about robotics, or willingness to get your hands dirty with hardware in the field
  • A ship-it mindset — reliable over clever

Nice to have

  • Experience with fleet management, logistics, or industrial automation systems
  • A background in simulation or planning algorithms

What's actually in it for you

  • You're not maintaining someone else's codebase — you're building the architecture this company runs on for years. Your calls on how the agentic system is designed show up in the product, not in a suggestion box
  • Small team means your name is on the outcome, good or bad — and that's the point
  • Need to go for a run at 2pm between two meetings? Go. That's what flextime means here — not a buzzword
  • Core time 9am–12pm, flexible the rest of the day, plus 1 day of home office per week
  • Working holidays
  • Klimaticket Steiermark, fully covered
  • Office in the city center with a terrace facing the Schlossberg, right next to the Mur — good for a coffee between debugging sessions or clearing your head before a deploy
  • Real access to the startup scene: events, community, the people building the same kind of thing you are

Salary

Fair pay matters to us. The minimum gross monthly salary for this position is €4,611. Depending on experience and qualifications, we're of course happy to offer more.
